Last week, I announced that I would be interviewing artists for Emotive Photography’s Artist Spotlight. I just wanted to give everyone the heads-up that the first interview has been uploaded to the forums. I am now on the lookout for victim…er…artist number two! I will be going through the EP group to select the next interviewee to spotlight. Until then, here is an “excerpt” from the current interview with artist/photographer/filmmaker, Philip Rogan. (Click the link that follows the excerpt to read the entire interview.) If you have not had a chance to read the entire interview, you should have a look because there is a lot of great information there!

For this first spotlight, I chose a wonderfully talented artist, Philip Rogan , who is based in Spain and whose portfolio is one emotive trove of visual eye candy! If you have not had a chance to check it out, you really should. He captures piratically everything in the emotional gamut, from anger to love, with a keen eye for composition and storytelling.

I was delighted to be able to pick his brain about everything from Ireland to filmmaking, and his wonderful piece “Young Actor”. He has also presented some wonderful tips to artists about the business of photography and on how to capture emotions on film. And, if that were not enough, he was also able to tackle the dreaded twenty-first question with an answer that is poised and, well…emotive!
